You may only be interested in being an operator at a small salon, however the possibilities are endless. For example, you could specialize and become a makeup artist, hair color technician, platform stylist, salon manager, salon owner, cosmetology instructor, the list is endless. Having you Cosmetology License is not just cutting hair these days. Completion of the Cosmetology Program will prepare the graduate to take the State Board Examination to become a licensed Cosmetologist. SPECIALIZED TRAINING The ABS 1250 hour Cosmetology Program will train potential Cosmetologists in the general skills of hairdressing and their practical shop applications. The program includes lectures, demonstrations, student practical and theory work, and written and practical demonstrations. The student will have a great deal of hands on training of cosmetology services in a clinical setting. Upon completion of the students first 300 hours of practical training, students are then permitted to work on the clinic floor under the supervision of instructors. ABS is fortunate to have a large clientele, giving students a great deal of experience in cutting, perming, styling, hair coloring, etc. Students wil receive advanced training integrated throughout their program in such areas as; Cutting, Foiling, Artificial Nails, and Esthetics. They are also educated in indoor tanning and assist clients who request tanning services. ABS offers the cosmetology students the latest knowledge in the ever changing trends of the Beauty Profession. ABS has a monthly guest artist attend the school to update and educate students. ABS also attends local, state, and international hair shows by way of field trips which students may participate. ABS prepares students continuously throughout their 1250 hours for state board examinations. ABS holds a "mock" board practice every 6-8 weeks for students. Full time and Part time students are acceptable. Full time students can complete the course in nine months. Part time students can complete in fifteen months. Begin your "creative" career today.
